Exploring clinical variation in mortality - Mortality following hospitalisation, seven clinical conditions, NSW, July 2012 – June 2015
Released: 12 April 2017
This report presents risk-standardised mortality rates for seven clinical conditions in NSW, and across 75 public hospitals. Measures that assess how healthcare affects patient outcomes such as mortality and readmission make a crucial contribution to performance evaluation. When appropriately risk adjusted, they can point to unwarranted clinical variation.
