Adult Admitted Patient Survey 2018

Released: 30 October 2019

The Adult Admitted Patient Survey 2018 results reflect the experiences of 17,805 adults admitted to one of 77 NSW public hospitals in 2018. Results are available at hospital, local health district and statewide levels.

In 2023, BHI introduced a new statistical approach to improve fairness and precision when flagging hospital performance as significantly higher (green) or significantly lower (red) than the NSW result in the Snapshot report and supplementary data tables. The report and supplementary data tables on this page use a previous methodology for identifying significant difference which is no longer in use.

When looking at performance over time, the focus should be on the changes in percentage results rather than whether those results are flagged as green or red, noting that year-on-year differences may not reflect clinically or statistically significant differences and that changes in a hospital’s patient mix may contribute to changes in results.
