Healthcare Quarterly is a series of regular reports that track activity and performance for emergency department, elective surgery, admitted patient and ambulance services in NSW.

Additional comparative hospital information at a local health district, hospital peer group and individual hospital level is also available through BHI’s interactive portal, Healthcare Observer. Ambulance information can also be accessed at a NSW level and for 91 local areas.

This quarter, a COVID-19 Supplement has also been published providing additional information on public hospital and ambulance activity at NSW level from January to June 2020, allowing greater insights into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health system.

Figures published in Healthcare Observer may differ from those in published reports and information products due to subsequent changes in data coverage and analytic methods, and updates to databases. At any time, the most up-to-date data are available in Healthcare Observer and supersede all previously published figures.
