Elective surgery reporting in Hospital Quarterly, April to June 2012
The Bureau of Health Information advises that the next edition of Hospital Quarterly, reporting on hospital performance from April to June 2012, will not include information about elective surgery at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
We have been notified that the patient information system at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is undergoing a major upgrade. During the course of this upgrade, the information in its electronic system relating to surgery performed is considered unreliable.
Therefore, the Bureau has excluded information about this hospital from the elective surgery module in the April to June edition of Hospital Quarterly.
The Bureau will resume reporting information about elective surgery performance for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead when the upgrade to the patient information system is complete.
