Adult Admitted Patient Survey

The two-part virtual care module returned to the survey questionnaire during the period April to June 2023 to monitor patients’ experiences with virtual care with hospital outpatient clinics and/or general practitioners (GPs).

This questionnaire includes both the Aboriginal patient and virtual care question modules.

BHI and the Centre for Aboriginal Health are working together to collect and report on the experiences of care for Aboriginal patients who receive healthcare services in NSW. The 2023 questionnaire includes a module containing questions identified as being important to Aboriginal patients.

This questionnaire includes a module for patients who underwent elective surgery during their admission. The 13-question Planned Surgery or Procedure module was added to gain insights into patients' experiences of care with elective surgery.

An expanded two-part module consisting of 13 questions about patients’ virtual care experiences in the three months following discharge was included in the questionnaire during the period January to June 2022.

In response to the increased and ongoing use of virtual care, this questionnaire was amended for the July to December 2021 patient cohorts to include seven questions about patients’ experiences with virtual care outpatient appointments.
