Mortality following hospitalisation for seven clinical conditions
July 2021 – June 2024
This report presents information about mortality for seven clinical conditions, including one surgical procedure, in the 30 days following admission to 69 NSW public hospitals from July 2021 to June 2024. The conditions include: acute myocardial infarction; ischaemic stroke; haemorrhagic stroke; congestive heart failure; pneumonia; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and hip fracture surgery.
The results include mortality rates for NSW, and risk-standardised results for individual hospitals which they can use to identify where clinical review, alongside other sources of local information, may be needed.
