BHI attended the 25th Annual Congress of the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia (CNSA) in Adelaide to present the key insights from the Outpatient Cancer Clinics Survey.

BHI Lead, Performance Reporting, Daniel Taylor, presented on patients' experiences of virtual care with outpatient cancer clinics in NSW public hospitals. His presentation, which drew on the results of the Outpatient Cancer Clinics Survey 2021, highlighted key insights including the challenges and benefits patients experienced with virtual care technologies as well as the factors that influenced positive experiences of care.

Our Acting Director, Performance Reports, Lilian Daly, drew on different analyses of the survey results to lead a presentation on the experiences of patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in NSW outpatient cancer clinics, in particular patients who speak a language other than English at home. This presentation was aligned with the 2023 conference theme Equity in cancer care – meeting the challenges.

Feedback from delegates following the presentations highlighted the unique value of the data BHI collects and reports and its power to inform real improvements in patients’ experiences and outcomes.

BHI partners with the Cancer Institute NSW to deliver the Outpatient Cancer Clinics Survey.
